Apple has released the stable iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 update to users after weeks of beta testing among developers as well as public testers. These upgrades are currently rolling out to all users worldwide, providing their devices are compatible. Unlike iOS 15.4, iOS 15.5 is relatively unchanged.

This would be iOS and iPadOS 15’s fifth major upgrade since September 2021. It’s a modest update that tries to correct bugs from iOS 15 and modify a few things before Apple goes on to the much awaited iOS 16.

The new iOS 15.5 features include a pair of buttons introduced to the Wallet app that let Apple Cash cardholders instantly request or send money, and a new option in the Apple Podcasts app that lets you control the number of episodes kept on your device. According to the update release notes, the update also includes a number of bug fixes. One of these fixes should make home automation more reliable when people arrive or leave.

Additionally, Apple has made its upgrades to macOS 12.4, watchOS 8.6, tvOS 15.5, and Studio Display update 15.5 accessible for download by users. The majority of these releases focus on bug fixes and improvements to overall performance. As an update delivered a month before WWDC 2022, Apple isn’t making any substantial changes. Apple will almost certainly keep key features for their event on June 6, 2022.
